Educational opportunities
As part of our project objectives the AVCP strives to provide safe, supervised access to equines and to provide the facilities to learn skills relating to horses, horse riding and carriage driving. This access can take the form of work experience placements or educational courses.
We currently run ASDAN awards as part of the ASDAN Towards Independance Programme, providing the horse care and small animal care awards. In addition we also provide a course working towards the horticulture ASDAN and Community Volunteering ASDAN Award.
The project also runs British Horse Society courses and currently has three students working towards NVQ 1 and 2. The AVCP is registered as an approved ASDAN, and KEITS assessment centre.
