Drivers enjoy a training weekend at Ashfields Carriage and Polo Club

A wonderful weekend was spent at Ashfield Carriage and Polo Club in Essex. The training event was organised by the Carriage Driving Sports Group for disabled drivers and proved to be an exciting and very beneficial opportunity for AVCP drivers Annette and Stephen. Annette, who has just completed her Community Sports Leadership Award, drove our small cob Ted, a favourite of many, and proved to all that carriage driving was definitely the sport of her. Stephen, who has driven for many years but never without the assistance of an able bodied driver with dual control, proved that he could do without any help at all, driving dressage, cones and obstacles at speed and with great accuracy. Our thanks go to these two drivers and ponies Ted and Tom, it was a wonderful weekend for all involved and the instruction was top class. We look forward to further training with the CDSGdd.
