Young drivers sell books to raise funds

Members of the Alkham Young Drivers have set up a table selling books and DVDs in the new office, please have a look if you visit and support their efforts to raise funds for future training events.

Young volunteer Emma turned a chore into a clever fund raising idea, by running a sponsored poo pick during the school holidays. Emma raised enough money to purchase a couple of very smart new jumps!

Beekeepers collect money, not just honey!

The AVCP would like to thank Jean of BEES4U who collected £47 at the end of a beekeepers meeting, many thanks Jean and her members.

Chefs raise funds

A fun fundraising evening was organised by Kim (vigilant volunteer), who hosted a Gourmet Chef party at her home. Staff and volunteers attended, cooked, purchased Gourmet Chef utensils and polished off a fair amount of wine! Our thanks go to Kim for putting on such a fantastic spread and to all those that attended. The evening raised £157.00

AVCP young volunteer drivers turn professional for the day assisting at a family wedding with coachman Sonny Hillier. The wedding was at Dover town hall and involved negotiating the wedding carriage through Dover's one-way system and up and down the many very steep hills that surround the harbour.

Sarah Haselgrove, an AVCP young driver, has been featured on the BBC website. Sarah has bravely taken up carriage driving despite her heart condition and has competed in the show ring and has ambitions towards further competition driving.

  1. Junior drivers off to summer camp

    Club members and ponies are set to go to the BHDTA summer camp 10th, 11th, 12th of August.

  2. Pocket Rockets storm into town

    Kate Spillet is bringing her 'Pocket Rocket' ponies along to Saddle Club on the 14th of August. Saddle Clubbers have a fantastic opportunity to learn what can be achieved with very small ponies and a long pair of reins.
